Casa Project

Remodel: Kitchen, Dining Room, Fireplace | Coe Valley, San Francisco

A captivating transformation of a 1913 Spanish-Colonial home.

Our mission was to preserve the home's original charm, seamlessly blending historic elements into a modern context. We reimagined the original terracotta floors as a stunning arched bar & brought the walnut-stained millwork into new forms like the dining room beams. To combat losing natural light while enclosing an atrium for a larger kitchen, we used a lighter palette to brighten the space. Traditional elements, like antique brass finishes & an upper cabinet motif, infused old-world charm into the modern design. In line with this vision, we kept the fireplace's original structure while enhancing its appeal through a light reface, repeating elements like the natural terracotta clay & rich wood tones to bring harmony & warmth throughout.
